There are numerous hotels that can be found all around Musanze to fit your personal and budgetary needs. The typical accommodations found in Musanze will be very basic, with the exception of a few higher end lodges and spas.
Do not be surprised to find that a hotel does not offer the amenities that are listed on their brochure or website. Rwandans would rather say “yes” than “no”, and that is true even when it comes to the amenities that they offer in their hotels. For instance, when a hotel offers WiFi you must ask them to be specific because it is often only accessible in certain parts of the hotel or the front desk will have a USB modem stick available to guests. Also, most hotels cannot guarantee hot water in their showers, so it is advised to ask them in advance if each room has a hot water tank or if it is a shared system throughout the hotel. The shared systems often run out of hot water very quickly.
Although there are some cultural differences between the Rwandan standard of customer care and the more developed world, do not be discouraged about your trip for Rwandans are extremely willing to please and most hotels have a very friendly staff eager to serve you.
